Recent work
11 years designing products across fintech, SaaS, marketplaces, among others. Here's a selection of work that shows how I approach problems and deliver results.

Enabling doorsteps returns
Shipt partnered with Target to enable doorstep returns, and the pilot flow had to remove errors, and minimal manual effort. Shoppers needed clear pickup instructions, and the UX needed to be scalable.
I owned UX for the entire return experience. Had to coordinate with operations, engineering, and service teams to reduce confusion, cut shopper error rates, and elevate customer satisfaction.
Immediate impact
‣ CSAT scores 8% above company average
‣ 0-to-1 product launched in under 4 months
‣ Hit 1K+ weekly orders post-launch
‣ Minimal operational issues across 20+ metros
‣ Unlocked a new B2C line for Shipt
Diego played a key role in helping us launch a 0-to-1 B2C product in under 4 months. His user-centered design work was critical to simplifying the returns flow and reducing shopper confusion.

Locations Details and Tagging
Procore's location tagging feature was underused (only 8% of projects used it) Field teams had to duplicate project items (e.g., RFIs, Submittals, Daily Logs) for each location, leading to: workflow inefficiencies, poor data quality, low feature adoption.
I built the Locations Details flow from entry point to page details around two issues: lack of spatial context and unclear ownership. In the same vein, how to assign locations to work being done so this tool becomes the single source of truth.
‣ Teams tagged 2.5× more items with location data.
‣ Duplicate entries dropped by 50%.
‣ Field teams moved through documentation faster, with fewer mistakes and less back-and-forth.
Diego is a strong designer who excels at thinking through complex problems with clarity and intention. His work is always well organized, which made it easy to understand his thinking and provide meaningful feedback. He approaches design challenges thoughtfully and is receptive to critique, making collaboration feel productive and respectful.

Digital Coach for Growth
Most DEI and wellbeing tools get ignored because they feel generic, impersonal, and like another HR task. Eskalera wanted a coaching product that feels human, not like a form.
I owned the end-to-end coaching session UX (short, focused, repeatable), the tone + interaction system to keep it conversational, friendly, and lightweight, and built a scalable design system so the product could grow without losing consistency.
Immediate impact
‣ 63% increase in weekly engagement
‣ 35% reduction in attrition (as stated in the project headline)
‣ 87% progress in power skills
‣ 4.7/5 average satisfaction score
Diego artfully balanced technical effort and product goals, adapting quickly where reasonable, but also ensuring that we upheld top design standards. I've seen these kind of trade-off discussions get contentious, but Diego always managed them with patience, grace, and expertise.

Punch Cards: Pay & Earn
Venmo partnered with merchants to drive repeated Venmo Debit Card usage through a cash-back rewards program. The pilot needed to support multiple campaign types (cross-merchant, single merchant, SMB) while making complex offers easy to understand and track for 70M+ users.
‣ Shipped to production in Q3 2022. No metrics shared due to engagement timeline.
‣ User testing: 8/10 users enrolled successfully without assistance
‣ Design patterns became foundation for subsequent growth features
Diego adapted quickly to our design team and standards, making him deliver great designs in a timely manner.

Billing & Account Management
Alteryx needed a unified billing experience for enterprise customers managing multiple cloud applications and workspaces. The existing fragmented system created support burden and confusion around payment processing, subscription management, and invoice access across their product suite.
Delivery:
‣ Complete billing account redesign consolidating all Alteryx cloud products.
‣ Self-service payment management flows for enterprise admins.
‣ Billing history, invoice access, and payment status tracking.
‣ Automated billing and payment scheduling workflows.
‣ Pricing tier display and subscription upgrade/downgrade paths.
‣ Designed to reduce billing-related support tickets and enable scalability.
Diego is a talented UX designer and a pleasure to work with. He approaches his work with a solid understanding of users and tasks and seeks to make experiences clean and simple. He quickly absorbs requirements and generates design concepts that reduce complexity. He's also a thoughtful and willing collaborator.
