What we wanted to do
Eskalera needed a scalable way to guide employees through personalized growth journeys without feeling like another HR tool. Existing solutions were generic, reactive, and had low engagement.
Tasks
As lead designer, I transformed DEI frameworks into approachable, mobile-first interactions. My goal: make self-coaching feel personal, actionable, and engaging, while supporting long-term behavior change.
Design process
I collaborated closely with product managers, and engineers to fully understand the learning outcomes and psychological drivers we aimed to promote. My key initiatives included: ✔️ Designed a modular framework tailored to user progress ✔️ Translated dense psych concepts into friendly micro-tasks ✔️ Integrated prompts across the app to boost real-time action ✔️ Ran usability tests to refine tone, timing, and visual clarity ✔️ Built reusable coaching components for future product lines
Impressive results
📈 63% increase in weekly engagement 🧠 87% of users progressed in key power skills 💬 60% of users took meaningful action within 24h of receiving a prompt 🔁 Reusable system reduced time-to-design by 40% across new features 📉 35% drop in employee attrition
More than just creative output, he's able to manage a creative process from idea through to completion. Collaborative, curious, and creative are three of the many positive words I'd use to describe him. Diego took a validated and functional product with an MVP design, and turned it into a beautiful and modern interface ready for the enterprise.
